Senior EIA Consultant
Salary:£38,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

Role Overview
The Senior EIA Consultant will support and lead the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) across a range of development and infrastructure projects. The role involves managing project tasks, coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs, producing robust technical assessments, and providing environmental and planning advice to clients and stakeholders. This position offers strong opportunities for career progression toward Principal level.
Key Responsibilities
EIA Delivery
*Manage key elements of the EIA process, including screening, scoping, impact assessments, and preparation of Environmental Statements (ES).
*Coordinate technical inputs from environmental and engineering specialists.
*Produce high-quality ES chapters, scoping reports, and technical documentation.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
*Act as a day-to-day client contact, providing clear environmental and planning advice.
*Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees, and other stakeholders to support planning submissions.
Technical Work & Quality
*Undertake environmental constraints reviews and early-stage risk assessments.
*Ensure project outputs comply with EIA Regulations and industry best practice.
*Contribute to evolving best practice, digital tools, and innovative approaches in EIA.
Team Coordination & Mentoring
*Support junior colleagues through task guidance, mentoring, and peer review.
*Assist project leads with scheduling, resource planning, and quality assurance.
Business Development Support
*Contribute to bid writing, fee proposals, and capability materials.
*Support the development of strong client relationships through high-quality project delivery.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
*Experience working on EIAs for development or infrastructure projects in the UK.
*Good understanding of the UK EIA Regulations, planning policy, and environmental legislation.
*Working toward chartership or already chartered (IEMA, CIWEM, RTPI, etc.).
Skills
*Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple workstreams.
