Job Description:
A well established sports organisation in Blackburn are looking for a hands on Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and support its next phase of development. This is a rare opportunity to join a high profile organisation with deep community roots, offering a broad and visible role within a fast paced environment.
The Opportunity
You will run the finance function day to day, reporting into an experienced Group Finance Director and working closely with a supportive Group Management Accountant. You will partner with senior leadership to drive performance, strengthen controls and support long term strategic planning. This is a role with genuine ownership and influence, suited to someone who enjoys variety and wants to play a key part in shaping an organisation’s future.
Key Responsibilities
*Take full ownership of the finance function and day to day financial management
*Deliver accurate and insightful monthly management accounts to support decision making
*Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning across the organisation
*Manage payroll and statutory returns, including VAT
*Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial reporting standards
*Maintain and enhance financial controls, processes and systems
*Supervise and develop an existing finance team member
*Oversee operational revenue streams and reconciliations
*Act as a key finance partner to senior leadership and external stakeholders
About You
*Experience in a management accounting role, QBE or part-qualified, or qualified
*Organised, detail focused and comfortable managing competing priorities
*Strong systems capability, including accounting software and Excel
*Willing to be hands on while contributing at a strategic level
*Confident communicator, able to work closely with senior stakeholders
*Interested in working within a professional sports environment
