Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: March, Peterborough
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Hours: Full-time (including on-call responsibilities)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead our Children’s Residential Home in March, Peterborough. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the home delivers high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
You will provide strong, inspirational leadership to the staff team while creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
*Overall leadership and management of the children’s residential home
*Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements
*Register with Ofsted (or already be registered) as the home’s Registered Manager
*Lead, develop, and supervise the staff team, fostering a positive and accountable culture
*Ensure robust safeguarding practices and safer recruitment processes
*Oversee care planning, risk management, behaviour support, and outcomes for children
*Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas, and resources effectively
*Build strong professional relationships with local authorities, placing teams, families, and external professionals
*Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, striving for positive outcomes
*Promote continuous improvement across the service
What We’re Looking For
*Significant management experience within a children’s residential setting
*Proven knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted frameworks
*Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up
*Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
*Experience of working with children with Learning Disabilities
*A child-focused, trauma-informed approach to care
*Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (essential)
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
*Ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties
