Purchasing Assistant / Buyer
Location – Colchester
Salary - £30,000 – £35,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity
Within your role, you’ll sit at the centre of the organisation, connecting customers, suppliers, logistics, and operations to ensure seamless and timely delivery of essential products worldwide.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem?solving, and building strong relationships. If you’re commercially minded, confident on the phone, and eager to gain hands on experience in international procurement and sales, you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include: *Researching and onboarding new vendors
*Sourcing, comparing, and negotiating competitive pricing
*Preparing accurate quotations for customers
*Raising and managing purchase orders
*Tracking and progressing orders to ensure on time delivery
*Liaising with warehouse and logistics teams to keep things running smoothly
*Managing supplier and customer relationships
*Providing high-quality customer service and support
A perfect fit for an understanding of a purchasing function seeking to develop their negotiation and commercial skills in a global context.
Who We’re Looking For
You will be: *Confident, articulate, and commercially aware
*Experienced in a related purchasing, sales, or administrative role
*Strong on the phone with excellent communication skills
*Well organised and comfortable managing multiple tasks
*Able to build rapport quickly with suppliers and customers
*A team player with a positive work ethic
If you happen to have a good Technical understanding of engineering / manufacturing products and can speak a foreign language that would be a huge bonus but is most defiantly not essential
