Assistant Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities
*Supporting the preparation of the organisation’s Annual Report & Accounts and Whole of Government Accounts
*Delivering consolidation of group data, including intercompany reconciliations
*Providing technical accounting advice based on IFRS as adapted by the FReM
*Preparing evidence and explanations for year-end audit requests
*Ensuring financial information is complete, accurate, and submitted on time
*Assisting with drafting financial statements and implementing new accounting policies
*Contributing to process improvements in financial reporting
*Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the group
What you’ll need to succeed
*You will have experience of working in government or in a similar public sector environment.
*Have a solid foundation in financial accounting who can contribute effectively within a busy consolidation and reporting environment.
*A finance qualification (e.g., AAT) or equivalent practical experience
*Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping
*Confidence and accuracy in working with financial data, especially in Excel
