Cleaning Supervisor
*Hourly pay £13.13 per hour (Negotiable for the right candidate)
*Location: Sportspark, University of East Anglia, Norwich
*Job Type: Part-time (Early mornings, Monday to Saturday excluding Thursdays) hours 3.30am - 9.30am
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Team Leader to join our Estates and Facilities Directorate at the University of East Anglia. The successful candidate will provide essential line management, direction, and support to our cleaning staff, ensuring that university facilities are impeccably maintained and ready for use by students, staff, and visitors.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Collaborate with colleagues across the university to maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer care, enhancing the reputation of the university.
*Develop, implement, and maintain cleaning schedules, ensuring consistent operational delivery to agreed standards.
*Conduct team briefings, training, and inductions, and model professional conduct to influence good practice.
*Oversee the introduction of new staff, including delivering basic health and safety guidance and operational induction.
*Monitor and report on quality through inspections, checklists, and inventories, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental practices.
*Manage staff absences, performance, and documentation in line with university policies.
*Maintain tools, materials, and checklists to support operational effectiveness and compliance.
*Advise on and ensure timely reordering of cleaning materials and equipment.
*Develop staff through regular feedback and support with performance management, aligning with sustainability and recycling objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
*Relevant supervisory qualification.
*Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities management.
*Proven supervisory experience and ability to support and lead a team.
*Competence in maintaining computer-based records.
*Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to manage stock control and follow security and confidentiality processes.
