Job Description:
Childcare Solicitor - Public Family Team
Location: Preston
Hours: Full-time
A specialist Public Family team is seeking a Childcare Solicitor to handle a variety of Public Law Family matters, including care proceedings, child protection, and special guardianships, in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a caseload of Public Law Family cases and attend court hearings
*Provide clear legal advice and manage communications with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties
*Mentor and supervise paralegals, supporting their professional development
*Collaborate across teams on cases and departmental objectives
*Contribute to business planning, continuous improvement, and client relationship building
Requirements
*Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, ideally 1+ years PQE
*Experience in childcare matters and family court proceedings
*Confident in CCMS and managing own applications
*Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
*Commitment to professional growth and effective teamwork
Desirable: Advocacy experience
