Production Planner – Engineering Sector
Location: Sheffield
Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based in Sheffield, who are looking to appoint an experienced Production Planner to strengthen their operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business with a strong order book, modern manufacturing facilities, and a reputation for quality and innovation. The role will play a key part in ensuring efficient production scheduling, material flow, and on-time delivery performance across the site.
The Role: As Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate production schedules to meet customer demand while optimising capacity, materials, and labour resources. You will act as a central link between production, purchasing, engineering, and sales.
Key Responsibilities: * Create and manage detailed production schedules across multiple work centres
* Align production plans with customer demand and project timelines
* Monitor capacity and adjust schedules to resolve constraints and bottlenecks
* Coordinate closely with procurement to ensure material availability
* Track WIP and ensure smooth workflow through manufacturing
* Review and update MRP/ERP system data for accuracy
* Communicate schedule changes and priorities to shop floor teams
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes
* Produce planning and performance reports for management review
About You: * Proven experience in a Production Planner / Manufacturing Planner / Scheduler role
* Background within engineering or manufacturing environments
* Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
* Strong Excel and data analysis capability
* Able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting
