Job Description:
Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with Cherwell District Council to recruit a Procurement and Contracts Manager. Following an independent review, Cherwell was heralded as a leader of place, with big ambitions and a track record of delivering.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement and Contracts Manager to join Cherwell Council’s procurement team. As the Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will work collaboratively with senior managers across all services to generate efficiencies, drafting and reviewing the departments business plan and ensure effective contract management.
As the Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the Council’s strategic priorities and objectives. You will lead, develop, manage and monitor the Council’s procurement strategies, systems policies and processes to ensure best practice.
Duties will include;
*Develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures to support the procurement process
*Maintain the procurement pipeline and contracts register
*Ensure the Procurement and Contracts Group (PCG) is appropriately led
*Lead on all spend analysis and activities relating to the Council’s expenditure on good and services
*Assist with the motivation and leadership of a Senior Procurement Officer
The successful Procurement and Contracts Manager will have:
*Extensive experience working within Public Sector procurement
*MCIPS, or equivalent level of experience
*Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills
*Experience of developing procurement policies to support corporate objectives
