Client Details
A well-established international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Interim Accountant to support the CFO through a significant post-acquisition integration. The organisation has recently acquired a business approximately twice its size, creating a complex and fast-moving environment that requires robust financial oversight, strong stakeholder management, and hands-on problem-solving.
Description
Post-Acquisition Accounting & Integration *Support the CFO with all financial aspects of the post-acquisition process.
*Assist in aligning accounting policies, processes, and reporting frameworks between the two businesses.
*Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial information during the integration period.
Cost Tracking & Project Oversight *Lead on cost tracking for the integration project, ensuring spend is monitored, recorded, and reported accurately.
*Develop and maintain clear financial dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools to support decision-making.
*Identify variances, risks, and opportunities, escalating issues promptly where required.
Stakeholder Engagement *Work closely with internal teams across finance, operations, and project management to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.
*Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and consultants to support smooth execution of integration activities.
*Provide clear, concise updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and financial impacts.
Process Improvement *Review existing processes and controls, recommending improvements to support a scalable post-acquisition finance environment.
*Support the development of new reporting structures and integration workflows.
Profile
*Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with proven experience in post-acquisition or integration environments.
*Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around IFRS 16, consolidation, cost tracking, and financial controls.
*Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders, including CFOs and external advisors.
*Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with competing priorities.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
