Deep Sea Import Operator (with Customs Experience)
Location: Felixstowe / Ipswich Area
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Are you an experienced Deep Sea Import Operator with strong customs compliance knowledge? This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established UK freight forwarding business offering full end-to-end logistics, customs clearance, and global import operations. The organisation has over 40 years of expertise in international freight, operating from modern facilities near the Port of Felixstowe and providing fully in-house transport, warehousing, and customs services.
The Role
You will join a dedicated import operations team handling the full cycle of deep sea cargo movements from worldwide origins into the UK. Responsibilities include:
*Managing door-to-door deep sea import logistics, from overseas collection to final UK delivery.
*Completing all associated documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, Letters of Credit, certificates, and other shipping paperwork.
*Performing accurate and timely customs clearance, ensuring compliance with UK import regulations.
*Coordinating with global agents, carriers, and internal departments to track shipments and maintain smooth cargo flow.
*Communicating with customers, providing proactive updates, and resolving any operational challenges quickly.
*Liaising with in-house warehousing and UK transport teams to organise storage, consolidation, or onward distribution as needed.
