Payroll Manager - Marlow - 3 month contract - £250 per day
Role Purpose
Responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery while leading a payroll team and maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage multiple payrolls (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) across entities or jurisdictions
*Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments
*Ensure payrolls are processed and paid accurately and on time
*Maintain compliance with tax, pension, and employment legislation
*Oversee statutory filings and year-end payroll reporting
*Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support month-end processes
*Manage payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy between HR and finance systems
*Lead payroll audits and maintain strong internal controls
*Manage and develop payroll team members
*Act as escalation point for complex payroll queries
*Produce payroll reports and support budgeting and forecasting
*Manage relationships with payroll providers and external stakeholders
Experience & Skills
*5+ years payroll experience, including multi-payroll management
*Experience managing payroll teams
*Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
*Payroll systems experience
*Strong reconciliation and Excel skills
*High attention to detail and confidentiality
*Strong organisational and leadership skills
