We are seeking a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to deliver high-quality teaching in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) in the London area. This temporary position is ideal for a dedicated educator with a passion for engineering and technology, starting as soon as possible.
Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering
*Job Type: Temporary ( term time only )
*Location: London, East
*Working Hours: 36 hours per week (24 hours teaching, 12 hours admin)
*Salary: £28-£40ph, £13.85 per hour
Day-to-day of the role if an Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering:
*Deliver engaging and effective lessons in CAD/CAM using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Fusion 360.
*Teach mechanical engineering principles relevant to design and manufacturing to students enrolled in Level 3 BTEC Engineering and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.
*Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of Level 3 and HND students.
*Contribute to the development and updating of CAD/CAM modules within the engineering curriculum.
*Ensure alignment with awarding body requirements, including Pearson BTEC and HND standards.
*Design and assess assignments, projects, and practical tasks, providing constructive feedback to support learner progression.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CAD/CAM technologies and manufacturing trends.
*Embed employability and sustainability skills into teaching.
*Comply with internal and external quality standards.
*Participate in standardization and verification processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
*Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET, PTTLS, DTTLS ect).
*Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
*Experience teaching BTEC Level 3 and HND learners.
