Job Description:
REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company.
Key Responsibilities
*Production Planning & Execution: Oversee daily/weekly manufacturing operations within a busy steel production site
*Quality Control & Compliance: Drive quality control to ensure products meet precise metallurgical specifications, handling material certification and traceability.
*Process Improvement (Lean Manufacturing): Optimise production processes to improve yield, reduce scrap/rework, and reduce manufacturing costs.
*Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Implement strict health, safety (HSE), and environmental policies to manage hazards associated with high-temperature processing.
*Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop production teams (operators/technicians), managing shift patterns and performance.
*Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
*Material Resource Management: Liaise with procurement to manage inventory of high-value raw materials and consumables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
*Technical Knowledge: Understanding of steel steel production within a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous
*Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment, particularly in metals or superalloys would be advantageous
*Quality Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP would be advantageous
*Analytical & Planning Skills: Strong proficiency in using ERP systems for production planning, along with data analysis to drive efficiency.
*Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
The role includes pension, private healthcare and a bonus of up to 15%
