Demand & Logistics Manager - Food Sector (4 days office, 1 day WFH)
Job Description
An exciting and challenging opportunity to assume responsibility and manage the vendor performance and assume the day to day management of the suppliers across multiple international territories, ensuring forecasts and stocks meet the business needs. Potentially to take the management of junior staff within the department.
To manage the 3PL warehouse in cost management, day to day operations and customer fulfilment
Manage forecasts and stock levels for your category, working with the Sales function to ensure buy in.
Ensure we meet customer OTIF targets of 98.5%.
To liaise with the Senior Buyer on NPD process related to products in your category. For new products - work on the forecasts, launch and implementation
To proactively review slow selling lines and provide recommendations as appropriate to manage obsolescence.
Meet with supply chain staff and buyers from key customers to review forecasts and demand.
To review process improvement, particularly using technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
To report on a range of metrics, vendor performance, cost savings to improve performance, 3PL performance and forecast accuracy.
To arrange transport / logistics where necessary both from suppliers and to customers.
To visit suppliers where necessary to manage them effectively.
Potentially take on the management of more junior staff.
To work closely with the Head of Operations and be his number 2.
To carry out review of on a global level of economic and political factors that may impact the demand plan.
To monitor raw material prices globally on your product categories.
Essential Skills
Experience in procurement, supply chain, demand planning and with 3PL warehouses / logistics (Food sector related).
Strong negotiation ability to gain buy in internally as well as supplier management.
Attention to detail – the role requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure data, stocks forecasts are managed effectively.
Analytical thinking and numeracy – the ability to analyse data, assess risk, identify opportunties for improvement and manage budgets and forecasts.
Good People Skills- to be able to manage people and work closely within a team.
