Job Description:
Dalton Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity available for an HR Manager to join this national business and lead a small HR team in delivering a comprehensive, efficient, and commercially focused HR service across a multi-site, blue-collar SME organisation. Reporting to the CFO, this role ensures that HR operations, systems, people processes and compliance frameworks support business performance, workforce engagement, and organisational growth. Working very closely with the Senior Leadership Team, this is a very hands-on operationally focused role with 4 direct reports and needs someone who can roll their sleeves up and deliver a 360 degree HR service. There is a huge amount of development potential given the variety and scope of work to deliver.
The role is offered on a full time permanent basis, based from their offices in Middlewich, offering a flexible hybrid model with 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days working from home but with additional flexibility as required.
Key Responsibilities:
*Partner with the Senior Management team to develop and grow the business culture.
*Manage the execution of the HR Strategy to ensure achievement of the business objectives.
*Manage all core HR departmental areas, including payroll and benefits, employee relations, HR admin, performance and development, recruitment (contracts), induction, employee engagement, and maintaining and improving HR systems.
*Ensure internal HR communications, including any issues, initiatives and programmes are well planned, coordinated, relevant, timely.
*Ensure accurate employee records and documentation.
*Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, maintain employment contracts and documentation
*Manage the allocation of HR budgets where necessary.
Employee Relations:
*Management and ongoing development of Employment policies.
*Handling of employment relations issues such as disciplinaries, grievances and employee welfare.
*Ensure employment law, HR policy, best practice and workforce development are applied.
*Maintain current regulation compliance, including accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation (including legislation on data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety).
*Oversee staff attendance and absence monitoring
HR Administration & Onboarding
*Ensure accurate employee records and documentation.
*Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
*Maintain employment contracts and documentation
Reward, Payroll and Benefits:
*Coordinate the monthly payroll process with the Payroll manager and outsourced bureau
*Manage the company’s employee programmes, staff benefits and packages.
*Conduct annual remuneration and benefit surveys and reviews.
Recruitment and Retention:
*Assist the recruitment service to allow the business to meet its people plan.
*Identify staffing needs and manage the creation of job descriptions and employment policies.
*Management of job recruitment posts and job boards.
*Ensure the onboarding process is handled in a professional manner to expedite the settling in period.
*Develop the organisational structure to support future growth, using best practice principles.
*Ensure the offboarding process is handled in a professional manner to ensure everyone is consistently treated fairly.
Performance and Development:
*Develop and manage the performance review programme to deliver continuous employee development.
*Regularly coach, mentor, and support colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs.
*Ensure employee training requirements are well managed and monitored.
*Manage the training and development plans and ensure they are of a high standard.
Data/Security
*The post holder is responsible for ensuring he/she maintains the integrity and quality of both computerised and manual data.
Person Specification:
*3-4 years in an HR Management or similar level HR role.
*CIPD L5 or L7 qualified
*Strong people management / HR team leading skills
*Extensive HR generalist responsibilities with a strong focus on resolving complex sensitive Employee Relations cases including grievance, disciplinary, long term sickness, performance management
*Proven record in building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
*Ability to work under pressure to meet conflicting priorities/deadlines.
*Confident decision maker
*Sound organisational skills.
*Strong professionalism and credibility.
*Have the ability to integrate into the firm as a trusted HR professional
*Intermediate IT Skills including MS Word, Excel and HR databases
*Commercially aware and able to influence all stakeholders
