Overview
A client of mine are looking for an experienced Manual Metal Machinist to join a growing team. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience operating a range of manual machining equipment. This role plays a key part in manufacturing high-quality components and assemblies, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate manual milling machines and lathes.
*Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models to understand specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
*Carry out routine machine maintenance to maintain performance and reliability.
*Select and use appropriate tooling to achieve high-quality finished components.
*Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment and basic mathematical calculations to verify accuracy and tolerances.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve production methods and overall efficiency.
Requirements
*Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with practical machining experience.
*Solid understanding of milling, grinding, and assembly techniques.
*Competent mathematical skills for accurate measurement and calculation.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
*Strong commitment to maintaining health and safety standards within the workshop.
