Job Description:
Are you a compassionate, reliable, and skilled support professional passionate about improving the lives of young adults with complex needs? We are seeking Care Workers / Support Workers / PMLD Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team at a specialist college in Harrow.
About the RoleYou will be supporting learners aged 19–25 with a range of profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Your role will involve providing high-quality personal care, educational support, and promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities*Provide personal care, including dressing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility
*Support learners within classroom, community, and therapy-based sessions
*Implement behaviour support strategies (Team Teach or equivalent an advantage)
*Follow individual education and care plans
*Support with communication, engagement, and sensory learning
*Assist with hoisting, repositioning, and safe movement (Manual Handling)
*Respond appropriately during medical or care-related needs, including epilepsy support
Requirements*Experience supporting individuals with PMLD, autism, complex needs, or behaviours of concern
*Training or experience in:
*Manual Handling / Moving & Handling
*Team Teach (or similar)
*Personal Care
*Epilepsy awareness/support
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A caring, patient, and proactive approach
*Willingness to undertake further training
*Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete one)
