HGV Mechanic / Technician

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic / Technician to join a well-established and growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that has recently invested in a brand-new workshop facility and is committed to maintaining high operational and safety standards.
The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGV vehicles and associated equipment to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out routine inspections to identify and address potential mechanical issues
*Accurately diagnose faults using specialist diagnostic equipment
*Repair or replace defective components in line with manufacturer specifications
*Complete preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
*Maintain accurate service and repair records
*Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment where required
*Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised and compliant with health & safety regulations
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold safety and operational standards
About You*Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle/mechanical role
*Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical components
*Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
*Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
*Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
*Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar)
*IRTEC accreditation desirable
*Full UK Driving Licence
*Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
*Must have own tools (company van supplied)
