Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career? Our client, a supportive and collaborative business, is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their newly created role. This is a varied position offering hands-on experience across transactional finance and the chance to grow into management accounting responsibilities.
Role Overview:
*Accounts payable & expenses: Process supplier invoices, manage the finance inbox, handle expense claims, and resolve discrepancies.
*Month-end & reconciliations: Post accruals, prepayments, and journals, assist with balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets, and support budgeting and forecasting.
*Reporting & analysis: Help prepare management accounts and reporting packs, perform variance analysis, and assist with VAT returns.
*Ad hoc projects: Contribute to process improvements and support colleagues across the business.
We’re looking for:
*Part-qualified or actively studying towards a finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
*Strong transactional finance experience with exposure to management reporting
*Confident Excel skills
*Excellent communicator, able to work with colleagues at all levels
*Eager to develop and take on increasing responsibility in management accounting
