Job Description:
Loan Servicing Manager (Redemptions & Defaults)
London | Bridging Finance | Non-Bank Lender
£45,000 – £65,000 basic
The Business
Our client is a fast-growing, London-based, non-bank bridging lender that is genuinely shaking up the short-term lending space. Known for their speed, decisiveness, and commercial mindset, they are building a reputation as one of the most exciting lenders in the market.
As part of their continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Loan Servicing Manager to take ownership of a live loan book from completion through to redemption — including extensions, restructures, and, where required, defaults and receivership.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on position responsible for managing loans throughout their full lifecycle, with a particular focus on redemptions, exits, and defaults. You will act as the key decision-maker once loans are live, working closely with senior management and the board to protect the lender’s position while achieving pragmatic outcomes.
You’ll manage a portfolio manager and play a critical role in shaping strategy on loans that are approaching maturity or experiencing issues.
Key Responsibilities
*Full end-to-end management of a live bridging loan portfolio post-completion
*Proactive management of loan redemptions and exits
*Reviewing loans approaching maturity and assessing exit viability
*Re-underwriting loans where extensions are required
*Designing and proposing alternative repayment strategies where standard redemption is not achievable
*Presenting commercial recommendations to senior management and board members
*Managing defaults from initial arrears through to resolution
*Overseeing the full credit control process, including:
*Liaison with solicitors
*Managing Law of Property Act (LPA) receivers
*Involvement in enforcement and receivership where necessary
*Ensuring all actions align with internal credit policies and regulatory expectations
*Maintaining strong, professional relationships with brokers, borrowers, solicitors, and receivers
About You
*Proven experience within the bridging or specialist property finance market
*Strong understanding of the underwriting process and how loans are structured
*Demonstrable experience managing redemptions, extensions, and defaults
*Comfortable dealing with difficult conversations and high-pressure scenarios
*Firm, confident, and commercially astute — able to hold your own with senior stakeholders
*Experience liaising with solicitors and receivers
*Able to take a strategic view of a loan while remaining hands-on
*Management experience or the confidence to manage and mentor a portfolio manager
What’s on Offer
*Basic salary of £45,000 -£65,000, depending on experience
*Opportunity to join a high-growth, entrepreneurial lender
*A role with genuine autonomy and influence
*London-based office, 4-5 days per week
