Role: Interim Finance Manager
Location: Derbyshire 2-3 days per week
Contract duration: six months
Start: Early March 26
Distinct is supporting a Derbyshire business to recruit an interim Finance Manager. This is a key leadership role ahead of financial year-end, where you will guide the team through this busy period.
Hands-on in nature, you will oversee a team responsible for two core business units. This is within a complex, multi-site environment.
The role combines technical accounting oversight, commercial interaction, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead month-end reporting and ensure accuracy of financial results
*Review and challenge balance sheet positions and GL integrity
*Deliver variance analysis and performance insight to senior stakeholders
*Act as key finance contact during year-end
*Provide oversight and technical guidance to a team of accountants
*Act as the link between finance and operational/commercial teams
*Drive improvements in processes, controls, and reporting
About you
*Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) – ACA audit-trained, advantageous
*Strong financial accounting background with solid technical grounding
*Confident in managing GL, balance sheet control, and audit processes
*Experienced people manager with the ability to lead and challenge effectively
