Team Leader
. Ensure that safe working practices are both demonstrated and assured in the team. Including but not limited to PPE use and maintenance, Manual Handling, COSHH, COMAH/DSEAR, FLT use, reporting of incidents, NMI’s and observations and adequate First Aid cover
. Maintain process discipline through a combination of training and appraisals
. Support colleagues through the Company absence process through use of RTW’s and where we are not able to encourage adherence to required attendance, use of the Company processes on absence working with HR.
. Effective root cause and corrective actions of NCR’s. Investigations completed within 24h, and actions within 5 days.
. Diligent, unbiased and precise communication with all team members on expected standards, performance and outcomes.
. Develops colleagues through regular development.
. Other duties as may be nominated to the person, insofar as they are safe and practical to be delegated with training where required.
. Ownership of the site where the manager is not present.
Production & Despatch specific:
- Allocation of team members dynamically to tasks according to the order book priorities, inbound and outbound freight.
- Ensuring sufficient colleagues are trained
- Review of the daily production report
- Liaison with internal stakeholders
- Ensuring stock accuracy is >99% and that any shortages or write downs are checked and reported.
Sampling specific:
- Allocation of team members dynamically to tasks according to the agreed BMS priorities, with the Operations Manager
- Proactively develop process improvements to reduce walking and handling.
- Manage internal stakeholders consistently
- Ensure that issues impacting customers are communicated and all shipments to divisions go on time.
- Strong liaison with and understanding of the planning and stock management processed to minimise waste and lead-time.
Teamwork & Ethics
. Manage and carry out any other duties as required to support the team and business, for example:
o Undertaking audits or other support activities within the Operations team, as is expected of all Operations colleagues to better understand each other’s roles.
. Transparent approach to workload,
. Promote company values, ethics and best practices.
. Working within requirements of Company Policy & Procedures.
Skills and Attributes Required
The successful candidate must have:
. Full UK driving license
. FLT License (desirable, exc. Sampling).
. Adaptability and effective decision-making using data and people inputs
. Calm and respectful under pressure - leads by actions and behaviours
. Ability to communicate clearly with your team and colleagues, and listens to others
. Competent with technology – MS Office, D365/MRP and other computer-based systems
. Commits to and achieves deadlines and objectives
. Remains positive, and is a team player
. Upholds the values of the business, fairly to all
Hours of work:
Monday-Friday 8.30-5.00pm
