Job Description:
SF Recruitment are working with a growing SME business seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of the full finance function. This is a broad and autonomous role offering real responsibility across transactional finance, reporting, payroll, and compliance.
The Role
Manage AP & AR including invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and credit control
Oversee bank reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, and short-term cash planning
Lead the month-end close including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Produce management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial analysis
Process end-to-end payroll including pensions and statutory submissions
Support VAT returns, audit preparation, and statutory compliance
Drive process improvements, automation, and stronger financial controls
The Candidate
Proven experience in an Accounts Manager / Finance Manager role within an SME
Strong hands-on accounting experience across transactional finance, payroll, and month-end
Experience supporting year-end and audit processes
Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a stand-alone or small team environment
