Job Description:
We are looking for a meticulous and inquisitive Formulation Scientist for an innovative company in Oxford (OX4), to join a small, experienced team.
The Formulation Scientist will be responsible for executing formulation development for microneedle based transdermal drug and vaccine products, with a focus on process optimization while collaborating with cross-functional teams under guidance from senior scientists.
Formulation Scientist key responsibilities:
*Develop and optimize transdermal formulations for APIs and vaccine candidates (patches, gels, microneedles).
*Operate and produce prototypes
*Conduct pre-formulation and stability studies; analyse and interpret results.
*Performing analytical experiments.
*Preparation of reagents, sample management.
*Sample and test material management.
*Assist in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer to pilot or manufacturing scale.
*Prepare experimental reports, protocols, and documentation for internal and regulatory use; presentation of results.
Key requirements for Formulation Scientist:
*Chemistry, Biochemistry or other relevant PhD plus formulation experience, preferably with topical and/or transdermal delivery.
*Knowledge of excipients, skin permeation enhancers, and formulation characterization techniques.
*Familiarity with QMS systems, GMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
