Job Title: Finance Business Partner
Hours: Full time
Rate: £51,356 - £53,460 per annum
Location: Hybrid
Middlesbrough Council is looking for a highly motivated Finance Business Partner to join their Financial Planning and Business Partnering team on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal role, providing high-quality financial advice, insight and support to Directors and Senior Leadership Teams as they deliver the Mayor’s vision and achieve the Council’s strategic priorities.
Main duties of the job:
*Helping shape how resources are planned, managed and understood across the organisation
*Leading on revenue and capital budget preparation, monitoring, and forecasting
*Supporting the production of the Council’s Statement of Accounts and statutory financial returns
*Working closely with service managers to understand operational needs and influence strategic decision-making
*Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and the Council’s financial procedures
*Leading, developing and supporting finance staff to deliver a high-quality service
*Driving improvements in financial systems, processes and organisation-wide training
*Guiding services to understand their financial position, and contributing to key financial reports
The successful candidates must have:
*Local Authority finance experience with a strong understanding of local government accounting policy and service delivery.
