A growing, privately owned SME is seeking a commercially minded Part-Time Financial Controller (4 days/week) to lead and strengthen its finance function.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced SME finance professional who enjoys operating close to the founders, improving processes, and providing clear, decision-ready insight — not just producing numbers.
The RoleReporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while adding value through forecasting, modelling and commercial insight.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Ownership of monthly management accounts and board reporting
*Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
*Budgeting and reforecasting processes
*Financial modelling to support pricing, investment and growth initiatives
*Overseeing transactional finance and improving controls
*Developing and refining reporting dashboards (Xero-based)
*Supporting strategic decision-making with clear analysis
About YouWe’re looking for someone who:
*Has experience operating as a Financial Controller (or strong Finance Manager ready to step up) within an SME environment
*Is confident using Xero and comfortable optimising its reporting capability
*Has exposure to financial modelling (cashflow, scenario analysis, growth modelling)
*Is hands-on, pragmatic and commercially aware
*Enjoys working closely with entrepreneurial founders
*Ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience in SME settings)
