Job description
BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Talent Assessment & Selection Lead to join our client, a regulatory firm, based in London.
We are offering an initial 3 month contract starting in March with an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company.
About the role:
Lead a comprehensive review and redesign of the organisation’s Interview selection approach. To support delivery of a fair and inclusive recruitment process but provide the agility to help deliver our future strategy.
Key responsibilities include;
Deliver new, end to end interview framework that is compliant, user friendly, and aligned with organisational standards, best practice and meets our future strategic needs. This will include: *Diagnostic Review of the Current Process
Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing interview and selection approach, assessing its: *Predictive validity and robustness
*Fairness and legal compliance
*Consistency and ease of use
*Candidate and hiring manager experience
*Current agility to help us recruit the right talent
*Ability to attract and select high-quality talent aligned to current and emerging capability requirements
This will include a detailed review of the current competency-based interview model and an evaluation of whether alternative or complementary methods (e.g., strengths-based, blended or situational interviewing) may provide improved outcomes.
*Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation
Engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including hiring managers, HR Business Partners, recruiters, and senior HR leaders to gather insights, understand challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
*Benchmarking Against Best Practice and Strategic Needs
Compare the existing processes with industry and public-sector best practice, as well as the organisation’s internal strategic priorities, including capability building, digital transformation and workforce planning.
*Development of Selection Principles and Process Design
Produce a refreshed set of selection and interview principles and a redesigned process that ensures: *Consistency across roles and teams
*Flexibility and agility where required
*Rigour, fairness and legal compliance
*Alignment to organisational strategy and operating model
*Embedding Inclusion and Supporting the DEI Strategy
Ensure that the revised selection approach actively supports the organisation’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals by incorporating inclusive design, mitigating bias, ensuring accessibility, and promoting equitable candidate outcomes.
*Delivery of a clear and robust framework outlining the purpose, structure, principles, and objectives of interviews across all divisions and grades up to Senior Manager level. (Director and above are not part of this process)
*Detailed guidance for hiring managers, including how to prepare, conduct interviews effectively, capture evidence, reduce bias, apply consistent scoring, and complete feedback in line with legal and policy requirements.
*A structured scoring methodology, including rating scales scoring descriptors, and decision-making criteria to support rigour, fairness, and inclusive recruitment
*A comprehensive question bank containing validated behavioural & technical questions with associated probes and scoring indicators, mapped to the organisation’s capability framework.
*Interview form templates that are accessible, intuitive, and suitable for ATS integration, enabling hiring managers to capture evidence, score consistently, and provide transparent and constructive feedback.
*Candidate feedback guidance and templates, enabling high-quality, evidence-based feedback to be provided in a consistent and fair manner that supports both positive candidate experience and compliance.
*The final interview framework will be appropriate, compliant, and easy for hiring managers to use, enhancing the quality, consistency, and fairness of selection decisions while improving the overall candidate experience.
