Job Description:
I am currently working with a leading manufacturer of high-spec electronics in Colchester who are looking for an experienced Pre-sales Engineer to join their team.
In this varied role you will be a key, revenue-enabling member of the organisation responsible for navigating complex, detailed sales cycles, developing long-term client relationships and matching client specifications to the company’s technology solutions. Specifically:
*Interpreting customer needs and translating them into viable solutions
*Creating and managing accurate, detailed quotations and proposals
*Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients
*Leading presentations and technical discussions
*Creating and running targeted sales campaigns to generate new leads and opportunities
*Ensuring the technical accuracy of all sales orders before they are processed
*Converting technical proposals into confirmed orders
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
*Have a minimum of 2+ years in a commercial, customer-facing role (e.g. technical sales, pre-sales, or solution selling)
*Ideally have prior exposure or understanding of technology sales processes within Defence, Telecom, Aerospace, Transport or Utility sectors
*Be a driven, commercially minded individual with a keen interest in technology
*Be able to use your technical insight and commercial drive to guide prospective clients towards the company’s solutions and deliver sales success and support
*Possess flexibility and a willingness to go the extra mile when needed
*Have a proven aptitude for sales, with the drive to identify opportunities and a clear understanding of the sales process
*Have excellent customer facing skills and communication ability, capable of articulating solutions to clients
