Operations Team Leader
A growing family-focused charity in Surrey is looking for a practical and steady Operations Team Leader to keep its busy service running smoothly across multiple sites. The team supports local families facing tough circumstances by providing essential items for families with children.
The Role
You will be the steady pair of hands making sure daily operations stay safe, organised and efficient. You will lead a small team, work closely with volunteer, referral and project leads, and stay visible on the warehouse floor.
You will:
*Oversee day-to-day activity across several sites, keeping spaces safe and welcoming.
*Manage incoming donations and stock with clear sorting, storing and tracking.
*Support accurate data records for operational and fundraising use.
*Take responsibility for site safety, maintenance, vehicles and compliance.
*Shape and improve workspace layouts to keep things flowing.
*Liaise with landlords, neighbours, contractors and partners.
*Maintain high quality standards so every referral feels like a gift.
*Line manage 2 Coordinators.
*Support recruitment, induction and training.
*Work closely with other Team Leaders to keep service delivery aligned.
*Use data to plan, report and improve.
*Suggest and test process improvements.
*Deputise for the Head of Service when needed.
*Maintain safeguarding, H&S and GDPR compliance.
About You
*Motivated by supporting children and families in practical ways.
*Experience in operations, logistics or facilities in a busy environment.
*Calm, visible and steady when juggling competing priorities.
*Comfortable in a warehouse setting and able to lift and move items safely.
*Clear communicator, good with people, good at building rapport.
*Confident using data, Excel and CRM tools (Salesforce helpful).
*Proactive, solutions-focused and organised.
*Full UK driving licence.
Hours
*28 hours per week
*Occasional weekend/evening work.
*NEST pension.
Flexible Working
Some flexibility, but this is very much an on-site, hands-on role.
