Job Description:
Employee Relations Advisor
Location: Leicestershire
Contract Type: Temporary - 3-6 months
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hybrid working - 3 days in office and 2 days working from home
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to join our client in Leicestershire on a temporary basis. In this role, you will take ownership of a varied caseload across the business, providing expert guidance on matters including restructuring, redundancy, TUPE, and complex employee issues. You will act as a trusted partner to managers, HR colleagues, and the wider business, ensuring a fair, consistent, and commercially balanced approach to ER.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage your own diverse caseload of ER matters across the business, ensuring trends and risk areas are understood and escalated where appropriate.
*Provide expert, commercial, and legally sound ER advice to managers, HR Business Partners, and the HR shared services team.
*Work collaboratively with HR colleagues to support the delivery of effective people solutions.
*Coach, guide, and influence managers and employees to reach appropriate outcomes and understand any risks associated with their preferred approach.
*Maintain a robust and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and assess its impact on policies and processes.
*Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardised ER toolkits, processes, and guidance, promoting consistency and self-sufficiency across the organisation.
*Act as an ER specialist on cross-functional projects as required.
*Design and deliver ER and employment law learning sessions for managers to build capability and confidence.
*Provide in-person support at hearings, meetings, and formal processes as requested by the Employee Relations Manager.
*Build and maintain a positive and constructive relationship with the recognised trade union.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
*Broad and in-depth working knowledge of UK employment legislation and its application in a commercial environment.
*Previous experience in a primarily ER-focused role.
*Proven experience managing a complex and challenging ER caseload within a multi-site business.
*Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels including senior management.
*Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general digital literacy.
*CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience).
Personal Attributes

*Self-motivated and action-oriented, with a strong drive to deliver high-quality outcomes.
