Job Description:
Are you a driven new business professional who thrives on opening doors and building long-term commercial relationships?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading food supplier as a Business Development Manager, where your primary focus will be on winning new business and driving sustainable growth, supported by a limited portfolio of key accounts. In this fast-paced, field-based role, you’ll play a critical part in expanding market presence and delivering profitable growth.
What you’ll be doing:
*Drive new business growth – identify, target, and secure profitable new customers through proactive prospecting, canvassing, and strategic business development activity.
*Build a strong pipeline – develop and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, ensuring consistent conversion and long-term value.
*Develop key accounts – retain and grow a small number of existing customers, identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet and minimise order losses.
*Deliver commercial results – achieve agreed sales and profit targets through disciplined planning, strong negotiation, and effective account strategies.
*Collaborate for success – work closely with Category Specialists and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and a joined-up customer proposition.
*Track performance – provide accurate reporting against KPIs including new business wins, pipeline value, customer retention, and revenue growth.
What we’re looking for:
*A proven sales or business development professional with a strong track record of winning new business and exceeding targets.
*Confident, consultative communicator with excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
*Commercially astute, proactive, and resilient, with the drive to succeed in a competitive market.
*Well-organised with strong planning and pipeline management capability.
*A full UK driving licence.

*Competitive basic salary up to £38 - £42,000
*£7,000+ car allowance
*Uncapped OTE of £15,000+
