Job Description:
Yard Person
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 (negotiable)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Start: ASAP
Our client is looking for a reliable and hands-on Yard Person to support their busy workshop and depot. This is a varied, physical role working with a friendly, down-to-earth team and would suit someone who enjoys being active, working outdoors and taking pride in keeping operations running smoothly.
What you’ll be doing
*Unloading and loading deliveries
*Checking in machinery and equipment on arrival
*Operating a forklift (up to 8 tonne)
*Moving plant and equipment safely around the site
*Keeping the yard, workshop and depot clean, safe and well organised
*General site maintenance, including bins, cleaning and wash-down duties
*Picking, packing and handling parts
*Supporting and working closely with the Parts Advisor
*Monitoring consumables and reporting any requirements
*Acting as key holder, opening up and preparing the site each morning
What we’re looking for
*Valid FLT licence
*Full UK driving licence
*Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
*Someone flexible, proactive and happy to get stuck into varied manual tasks
*A team player who can also work independently and use their own initiative
*Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and reliability
Hours & Pay
*Full-time, 40 hours per week
*Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
*Overtime available at enhanced rates
