Job Description:
FLOATING SUPPORT WORKER
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full Time (09:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday)
Are you passionate about supporting individuals experiencing homelessness? Do you want to make a real difference in your community? If so, a national homeless charity in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join their team!
This is a leading homelessness charity committed to providing support and accommodation to individuals in need. Their mission is to end homelessness and ensure everyone has a safe place to call home. By joining their team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve this vision.
Role and Responsibilities: As a Floating Support Worker, you will provide direct support to individuals facing homelessness, helping them access safe and stable housing. Your responsibilities will include:
*Conducting assessments to understand clients’ housing needs and develop personalised support plans.
*Deliver a person centred support working across the community.
*Assisting clients in finding suitable accommodation, completing housing applications, and navigating the rental market.
*Building positive relationships with landlords and housing providers to secure housing options for clients.
*Offering practical guidance and support in budgeting, tenancy management, and accessing housing-related benefits.
*Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure holistic support for clients.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in housing support or a related field.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
*Knowledge of housing options, local resources, and relevant legislation.
*Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach to support vulnerable individuals.
*Hold a UK driving licence and have access to a car.
*Hold an enhanced DBS.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
