Assistant Accountant
Location: Office-based - Runcorn
Job Purpose
AAT-qualified Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant to support the finance team with month-end processes, ledger maintenance, and day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments
*Assist with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
*Support the sales ledger and purchase ledger teams
*Process supplier invoices and customer receipts
*Reconcile bank accounts and control accounts
*Assist with VAT returns and audit preparation
*Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
*Respond to internal and external finance queries
Person Specification
Essential:
*AAT Level 3 upwards
*Experience with accruals, prepayments, and journals
*Good Excel and general IT skills
