An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Retail Technology to join the London-based EMEA Tech & Data practice, aligned to the EMEA Retail Industry. The Role - Director of Retail Technology

The Director of Retail Technology role is a senior leadership position with responsibility for both delivery excellence and commercial growth. As a Director of Retail Technology, you will lead the digital technology advisory capability within the Tech & Data practice for EMEA Retail clients.

This role combines strategic advisory leadership with a strong bias toward execution. The Director of Retail Technology will partner closely with Retail industry leaders and senior sellers to originate opportunities, build pipeline, and deliver complex technology programmes from strategy through to implementation.

Based in London, the Director of Retail Technology plays a key role in shaping the future direction of the Retail Technology advisory practice across EMEA.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Director of Retail Technology

As a Director of Retail Technology, you will: *Lead the delivery of digital technology advisory engagements for EMEA Retail clients
*Grow and deepen relationships with senior stakeholders across leading retail brands
*Drive business development, pipeline origination, and opportunity conversion alongside senior sellers
*Champion a client-facing, market-led approach to expanding Retail Technology advisory services
*Define business-led Digital and Technology strategies that enable growth and transformation
*Lead Technology Operating Model assessment, design, and implementation
*Apply modern delivery and architecture practices, including Agile and product-led ways of working
*Translate complex business challenges into pragmatic, actionable technology roadmaps
*Interface directly with C-suite executives to shape technology strategy and investment decisions
*Contribute to global thought leadership across Retail architecture, application strategy, and modernisation
*Build, lead, and coach high-performing consulting teams
Key Responsibilities *Lead Digital Technology Strategy, road-mapping, technology selection, and assurance engagements
*Apply Enterprise Architecture frameworks to support scalable, future-ready Retail platforms
*Develop and implement governance models that ensure architectural integrity and delivery quality
*Evaluate complex technology landscapes and define practical transformation plans
*Drive consulting-led sales from opportunity identification through to proposal and negotiation
*Partner with Retail industry leadership to shape go-to-market strategy
*Ensure high-quality delivery that meets client outcomes, timelines, and budgets
Key Requirements

The successful Director of Retail Technology will bring a blend of strategic vision, technical credibility, and commercial leadership.

You will have: *Proven experience as a Director of Retail Technology, Retail Technology Director, or equivalent senior consulting role
*Strong background in Retail Technology advisory and enterprise-scale transformation
*Experience developing and delivering multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps
*Deep understanding of Technology Operating Models and modern delivery practices
*Expertise in Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent)
*Experience leading and selling consulting engagements in a consulting environment
*Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with C-suite executives
*Demonstrated success in business development, pipeline origination, and revenue growth
Desirable Experience *Familiarity with emerging and disruptive Retail technologies, including AI, cloud, and data platforms
*Broad Retail application knowledge, ideally across Loyalty, Channels, and Commercial systems
*Experience delivering architecture modernisation and application rationalisation programmes
*Strong facilitation and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences
*Proven ability to balance strategic intent with practical delivery
