Job Description:
Financial Controller
*Location: London
*Department: Corporate Finance
*Reports To: Financial Director
We are seeking a qualified Financial Controller to join our diversified, multi-entity business. This role is crucial for enhancing our strategic capabilities, improving financial insight, and modernising our planning and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and experience with group consolidation.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Financial Reporting: Prepare and automate accurate and timely group financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in compliance with FRS102.
*Consolidated Reporting: Consolidate results from multiple subsidiaries and produce monthly and quarterly management reporting packs.
*Automation: Review and configure accounting workflows to identify and implement automation opportunities.
*Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop quarterly forecasts to support strategic planning.
*FP&A Analysis: Conduct variance, trend, and scenario analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
*Insights: Partner with business units to provide financial insight and drive accountability.
*Modelling: Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and performance tracking tools.
*Risk Reporting: Monitor key risk indicators and report findings to senior management and business units.
*Internal Controls: Support implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls to mitigate fraud and ensure compliance.
*Cash Management: Oversee cash flow, forecast liquidity requirements, and optimise working capital.
*Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to provide financial support for initiatives.
*Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure regulatory and accounting compliance.
*Financial Systems: Maintain and improve FP&A systems and ensure integrity of financial data structures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Education: ACA or equivalent chartered accountancy qualification.
*Experience: Minimum 3 years in finance with experience in a senior financial controller role focusing on risk and internal controls.
*Modelling: Strong financial modelling skills and ability to build models independently.
*Technical Skills: Proficiency in FP&A software and data analysis tools.
*Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
*Communication: Ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
*Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
