Forwarding Operator
TAMWORTH
Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00.
The Forwarding Operator is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and execution of domestic and international road freight shipments. This role ensures cost-effective route planning, strong carrier partnerships, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Responsible for the end-to-end coordination of domestic and international road shipments, ensuring cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
*Working within a busy road freight department as part of a wider operational team
*Handling European groupage and full-load services
*Arranging the movement of freight from origin to final destination (UK & Europe)
*Liaising with customers, overseas partners, and suppliers
*Managing shipments from booking through to delivery
*Preparing and processing customs and transport documentation


Skills & Experience Required:
*Minimum 2 years’ experience in European road freight or logistics
*Strong understanding of road freight operations
*Ability to manually calculate costs and charges, including taxable kilos
*Experience with customs paperwork
*Excellent communication and customer service skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
*Knowledge of TMS systems, TACO, Cabotage, and Mobility Package regulations.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
