Job Description:
Position Summary
A private banking institution is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Account Opening Clerk to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for opening new customer accounts accurately and efficiently while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal banking policies.
Key Responsibilities
*Process new account applications for personal and business clients
*Verify customer documentation in line with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations
*Conduct identity verification and due diligence checks
*Ensure accurate data entry into banking systems
*Maintain and update customer records
*Liaise with relationship managers and branch staff to resolve queries
*Provide excellent customer service throughout the onboarding process
*Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
Requirements
*Previous banking or financial services experience preferred
*Previous experience of new customer account opening (retail or private bank).
*Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
*Good understanding of banking compliance procedures
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and banking systems
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
