Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN
Primary School - Newham, East London
Start Date: ASAP

An excellent primary school in Newham, East London is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 SEN support within a primary setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school. The role is available until at least July, with potential for a temporary to permanent position.
The school is a two-form entry primary school with modern facilities, supporting pupils from Reception to Year 6, including SEN provision. It is easily accessible via public transport and offers a welcoming, collaborative environment. The school supports all pupils to enjoy their education while achieving their potential.
You will be joining a committed staff team who work closely together to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support for Pupils
* Provide 1:1 SEN support
* Help pupils make academic progress under the class teacher
* Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
* Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
* Build positive relationships and act as a role model
* Promote inclusion and engagement
* Assist in implementing IEPs and Behaviour Support Plans
Support for Teachers
* Support the class teacher in creating a positive learning environment
* Use strategies to support learning objectives
* Monitor pupil progress and feedback to the teacher
* Promote positive behaviour in line with policies
* Provide general classroom support as required
Essential Requirements
* GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEN
Desirable
* Experience working 1:1 with SEN pupils (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
* Degree in Psychology, Education or related field
