Job Description:
The Business Controller will take ownership of financial analysis, planning and business partnering across a diverse portfolio of professional services companies. Your work will directly influence decision-making at CEO, CFO and Group leadership levels.
Client Details
Our client is a rapidly growing, private-equity-backed group operating across auditing, accounting, tax and advisory services.
As the UK entity grows, they require a Business Controller to provide support to acquired firms and act as a trusted partner to senior leadership in the UK and the central finance team.
Description
The Business Controller will report into the UK MD and have a dotted line into the CFO for the Group.
They will also work closely with the portfolio companies senior leadership team regarding performance
*Lead financial analysis, reporting and performance insights across the UK portfolio.
*Develop and optimise budgeting and forecasting processes.
*Deliver monthly reporting with clear KPIs, commentary and recommendations.
*Analyse trends, risks and deviations-translating findings into practical improvement measures.
*Partner with UK firms on profitability, pricing, utilisation and cost base optimisation.
*Support the integration of new acquisitions, aligning reporting, definitions and financial governance.
*Enhance financial tools and models using advanced Excel and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Cognos).
Profile
A successful Business Controller should have:
* *5+ years’ experience in a Business Controller, Management Consultancy or Commercial Finance role
*Strong command of Excel and confident working with BI/reporting tools.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Relevant academic degree (economics, finance, management accounting, or chartered route).
*Accountancy qualification ACCA/ACA/CIMA
