Alexander Daniels Recruitment is proud to be working with a confidential organisation to recruit a Management Accountant to join their growing finance function.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives on improving processes, and is confident working with stakeholders across the business.
The Role
As Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, improving forecasting quality, and ensuring robust financial controls. You’ll oversee the day-to-day finance operations, lead a small team, and provide clear insights that support informed decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow, with clear commentary.
*Lead the forecasting process, continually improving reporting accuracy and financial insight.
*Oversee overhead budgeting, ensuring spend aligns with financial plans and organisational priorities.
*Prepare and submit pensions reporting, grant returns and any regulatory financial submissions.
*Manage the annual audit process, ensuring statutory accounts are completed within agreed timelines.
*Lead a team of two, ensuring all daily finance activities-including transactional processing, creditor/debtor management and VAT submissions-are completed accurately and on time.
*Partner with budget holders to review monthly forecasts, track spend and ensure financial plans remain on target.
*Take ownership of project P&Ls, helping operational teams understand costs, track budgets and identify risks early.
*Deliver informal financial training to non-finance managers to build understanding and confidence in interpreting reports.
*Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate updates and timely submissions to HMRC and pension providers.
*Oversee the digital financial reporting system, ensuring it provides accurate and transparent management information.
*Review and authorise purchase orders and payment runs, ensuring compliance with budgets and internal controls.
*Maintain key finance risk and process registers, monitoring incidents, identifying solutions, and strengthening controls.
About You
*Qualified Accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA
*Must have strong experience as a Management Accountant or similar level finance role.
*Brings excellent analytical skills, financial reporting experience, and strong commercial awareness.
*Enjoys leading people and developing team capability.
*Communicates confidently with non-finance stakeholders.
*Thrives in environments where continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving are encouraged.
