Graduate Teaching Assistant - Birmingham
Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Salary: £88.94 - £95 per day (dependent on skills and experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday | Full-time
About the Role We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join mainstream primary schools as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This role is ideal for graduates with degrees in Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Education, or any other transferable subject with relevant skills applicable to an educational setting.
Whether you are a recent graduate seeking valuable classroom experience during a gap year, or planning to apply for a PGCE with QTS, this is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on experience in schools.
This is a rewarding yet challenging role where you will support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it is not essential, as full training, ongoing support, and CPD will be provided.
The Ideal Candidate * Proactive and able to use initiative in a school environment
* Attentive, observant, and responsive to pupils’ needs
* Caring, patient, and compassionate
* Confident in supporting behaviour management
Job Requirements * A UK degree in a child-related or transferable subject
* Level 2 English (spoken and written)
* Fluent English is essential
* Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
* Must have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check
