SGO Assessment Social Worker - Stockport
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated SGO Assessment Social Worker to join our team in Stockport.
This is a focused assessment role responsible for undertaking Discharge of Care Order (CO) Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Assessments for Kinship Foster Carers. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality, timely assessments and developing robust support plans.

Responsibilities: *Complete Discharge of Care Order SGO Assessments for Kinship Foster Carers
*Produce clear, analytical, and evidence-based assessment reports
*Develop and finalise SGO Support Plans tailored to family needs
*Work collaboratively with children’s services and fostering teams
*Maintain accurate and compliant case records


To be considered for the role, ideally you will have: *Recognised Social Work Qualification
*Social Work England registration
*3 + years social work experience
*Experience completing SGO assessments / court-related work
*Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills
*Ability to manage a dedicated caseload independently
