Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible. We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
What you’ll be doing
As an Audio Visual Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality AV services at IET London: Savoy Place. You will be responsible for the seamless setup, operation, and maintenance of AV, lighting, video conferencing, and stage production services, ensuring outstanding technical support for meetings, conferences, and live events. Working closely with clients, internal teams, and third-party contractors, you will provide exceptional customer service and technical expertise to enhance event experiences.
Your role will include supporting live events by managing audio-visual setups, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all equipment operates smoothly. You will conduct morning checks to confirm operational readiness, provide first-line support for meeting rooms, and coordinate with external AV providers to ensure seamless execution. As part of a collaborative team, you will help maintain equipment, contribute to stock management, and uphold high standards of health and safety compliance.
If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for AV technology and live event production, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact while supporting the IET’s commitment to delivering exceptional events and meetings.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We’re looking for an experienced AV professional with a strong background in setting up and managing AV, video conferencing, and lighting equipment. You’ll have hands-on experience in live event production and a solid understanding of IT connectivity, networking, and current AV software applications.
The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a customer-focused approach to technical support. A working knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and AV-specific permits is highly desirable. You’ll also need strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external suppliers.
We’d love to get to know you
Is imposter syndrome creeping in? Don’t let it stop you; if you meet most (not all!) of the criteria, please apply. We’d much rather hear from you and review your application than miss out altogether.
