We’re partnering with a design-led consumer products business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is looking to build strong foundational experience across transactional accounting within a supportive and collaborative environment.
This role will provide hands-on exposure across purchase ledger, cashbook and month-end processes, while working closely with the Management Accountant and wider team. The business offers a positive culture and genuine progression opportunities, including support towards professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger & Payments
*Process supplier and factory invoices accurately and efficiently
*Manage supplier statements, remittances and reconciliations
*Support weekly payment runs (including BACS and overseas/factory payments)
*Process staff expenses and manage petty cash
*Monitor and maintain the shared finance inbox
Banking & Cashbook
*Post and allocate cashbook transactions
*Support bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
*Assist with month-end current account reconciliations
Month-End & Reporting Support
*Reconcile aged creditors and investigate variances
*Assist with spend analysis and reporting
*Provide support with ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
Experience & Skills
*Previous office or finance experience (accounts exposure advantageous)
*Experience in purchase ledger or transactional finance a distinct benefit
*Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail
*Confident communicator, both written and verbal
*Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload
*Comfortable working with Excel and financial systems
*Proactive, positive and willing to learn
