L3 Wintel & VDI Support Engineer
Location: Plymouth (5 days p/week on-site)
Rate: Up to £490/day
Contract: Until 31 Dec 2026
Clearance: Security Clearance - essential.
We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Wintel & VDI Support Engineer to support secure, complex deployable systems for a major defence programme. You will resolve advanced incidents, deliver change activity, and maintain the stability of mission-critical Windows Server and virtualised environments.
This role requires strong technical depth, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to work confidently within high-security operational domains.
Key Responsibilities
*L3 support for Windows Server and VDI platforms.
*Advanced incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and change implementation.
*Create and review LLDs, build/config documentation and KBAs.
*Provide Knowledge Transfer to customer teams.
*Support improvements across virtualisation, network, and security services.
Essential Skills
*Windows Server 2016–2022
*Active Directory & Group Policy
*Hyper-V and VMware NSX
*Skype for Business, Exchange 2012/2016
*Network fundamentals (firewalls, WAN, routing)
*McAfee AV / ePO
*PowerShell scripting
*Eligible for Orange clearance
Working Pattern
*Monday–Friday, core hours
*Fully on-site due to security requirements
