Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on individual to join our UK team in a warehouse-based role focusing on technical support, product quality assurance, and stock control. Reporting to the Tech Support Supervisor, you will manage the full post-sale lifecycle of optical and technical products. The role combines warehouse operations, administration in SAP, technical diagnostics, and professional dealer support. You will play a key part in maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring quality standards, and processing returns efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage the full returns process, including inspection of goods, assessing warranty validity, and issuing replacements promptly.
*Carry out quality checks on returned products and make informed decisions whether to return items to stock, reclassify as B-Grade, or strip for spare parts.
*Support dealers and customers, responding to spare part queries and offering troubleshooting guidance via email and occasional phone calls.
*Ensure accurate stock control, processing all returns and inventory movements through SAP and internal systems.
*Manage excess or obsolete stock, dismantling units for usable components and organising parts for easy retrieval.
*Perform light technical repairs, such as replacing components, cleaning optics, and making technical adjustments.
*Pick, pack, and ship spare part orders, ensuring careful handling of heavier and delicate optical equipment.
*Maintain an organised warehouse workspace, supporting smooth and efficient daily operations.
Requirements
*Experience in technical support, returns processing, warehouse operations, or logistics is desirable.
*Strong manual dexterity and practical problem-solving ability; experience with mechanical repairs, electronics assembly, or PC building is an advantage.
*Ability to review warranty claims and make fair, evidence-based decisions.
*Confident using Windows-based systems, with the ability to learn new software quickly (SAP experience is beneficial).
*Excellent communication skills, able to provide clear technical support via email and occasionally over the phone.
*Highly organised and proactive, with a strong commitment to workflow efficiency and maintaining a tidy workspace.
*Physically capable of lifting, packing, and handling heavier products safely during warehouse and shipping tasks.
*An interest in optics or technical hardware is beneficial but not essential.
