Trinity House Group are exclusively recruiuting for a large, complex education group to recruit a Head of Group Financial Accounting to lead its financial accounting function during an exciting period of continued development.
With a strong mission-driven ethos, this University plays a significant role in supporting students, communities and partners both in the UK and internationally.
The Role Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will lead the financial accounting team and take ownership of group-level financial reporting and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading, managing and developing a financial accounting team
*Overseeing the preparation and review of annual financial statements
*Managing statutory and interim audits and liaising with external auditors
*Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including overseas entities
*Supporting cash flow forecasting and investment of surplus funds
*Ensuring ongoing financial compliance and contributing to risk management
*Supporting intercompany accounting and reconciliations
*Sharing best practice and supporting capability development across the wider finance function
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a strong background in financial accounting and statutory reporting.
You’ll bring:
*Extensive experience preparing statutory accounts and working with auditors
*Strong balance sheet control and reconciliation experience
*Experience with cash flow reporting and planning
*Exposure to large, complex or group structures
This role would also suit someone currently in practice (or recently moved into industry) who is looking for a broader, group-level role with leadership responsibility in a values-led environment.
Experience within education, public sector or not-for-profit environments would be advantageous but not essential.
