Global Accounting Network are partnering with an international, PE backed retail business undergoing an exciting transformation and looking for an interim Financial Controller.


As the interim Financial Controller, this is a senior, hands-on role that plays a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal governance. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong technical accounting expertise and leadership capabilities.


Main Responsibilities
*Lead the financial control, statutory reporting, and internal governance for the UK entities.
*Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
*Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
*Lead external and internal audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and technical papers.
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial results and business performance.
*Support the preparation and submission of regulatory and compliance reports.
*Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes.
*Participate in finance transformation initiatives and cross-functional projects.
*Provide clear financial insights and explanations to leadership, including variance analysis and key accounting judgements.


Ideal Candidate
*Fully qualified accountant
*Strong technical accounting skills
*Experience running month end & year end activities
*Experience in a PE-backed, carve-out, or transformation environment
*Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle or Business Central
*French speaking would be advantageous
